It's Easter holidays now so we have Alyssa home for a coupple of weeks, which is bad for us as she like going to playgroup and misses it when she does not go. Ethan has been really sick the last week it took him all week to get rid of it, but he is better now. Well thats all for now hopefully I will have something better to update on here soon.

And then there were 4

This has been a busy week in the world of the Whitakers. Our new edition has finally arrived! Ethan James Whitaker was born on Tuesday 11 November 2008 at 10:30am, and weighing in at 6lb 6 ounces.

The day that he was born Tracey had got up about 2am with slight pains and thinking that it was just pre labour pains, but by 4am they were getting worse. Tracey had decided to start timing them about 6am for 15 mins and then was the call, maternity unit call time. We were asked to make our way to the hospital as soon as possible to be checked out and to know if we were staying in or coming home again. On arrival at the hospital (8am) Tracey was taken to a room to be eximined and booked in and to our surprise she was allready half way there to having the baby. In no time at all we were taken to a delivery suite and told to settle in. We must have been in the delivery suite for just over an hour and then it happened, Tracey's water had broken. PANIC STATIONS! ALL HANDS ON DECK! I had to run to find the midwife that was looking after us as Tracey could feel the baby coming and we were alone. By the time the midwife had come back into the room his head was already crowning. As Tracey is delivering quickly I was asked to do odd midwife's jobs to help the midwife delivering Tracey as she felt there was not much time to call for help. The baby was then delivered by 10:30am. Looking over the notes it only took Tracey 2mins to have him, and a total labour of 2hrs 35mins.

Last Weekend Update

Last weekend was a biggie for our family, well one person in particular (Tracey). On Saturday 1st November 2008 Tracey was Baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For those who know Tracey this was a big step and a huge decision, and i'm glad to say it is something she has chosen for herself. The day was also big for me as I was the lucky one to Baptise her, having never baptised someone before to baptise my wife was amazing. The power of the spirit in those waters was so strong. Even though Tracey only has just under 3 weeks until our next child is born, and is currently suffering with S.P.D with the pregnancy everything went well, and as she has said to me she had felt no pain the whole time. Tracey was given a white towel and a poem by one of the ladies that spoke during the service to help her remember her baptism day, this was a wonderful gift and one i'm sure Tracey is going to keep safe.

Sunday was another big day for us as having been baptised on Saturday Tracey was to be confirmed during the sacrament service and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. I was asked to be part of the circle that gave her this gift along with the Bishop and the 2 missionaries that had taught her. During the blessing I could feel a huge power running through me along with such a warm feeling, I knew this was the spirit. Tracey told me afterwards that she had experienced it too. This was a wonderful experience to share such important decisions with my wife and am so glad I have been a part of what she has chosen.
